• CIMIT CIMIT® is a non-profit consortium of world-leading academic and research institutions founded by Partners HealthCare System, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Draper Laboratory. It sponsors a number of areas of research including vulnerable plaque.
• American College of Cardiology The ACC is a nonprofit professional medical society and teaching institution dedicated to fostering optimal cardiovascular care and disease prevention through professional education, promotion of research, leadership in the development of standards and guidelines, and the formulation of health care policy.
• American Heart Association The AHA is a not-for-profit, voluntary health organization funded by private contributions. Its mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. These include heart attack, stroke (brain attack) and related disorders. Of particular interest is their annual publication Heart and Stroke Statistical Update.
• European Society of Cardiology The European Society of Cardiology is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of the European population by reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease.
